A FEW POINTERS BEFORE YOU GO

Find your kind of Brisbane art day

Choose between a gallery exhibition, an outdoor sculpture visit and a market where you can talk with makers. Evening markets are useful when you want a later outing, but check the session’s actual hours instead of relying on the event name.

The Brisbane calendar also includes nearby destinations such as Ipswich and Cleveland. Read the suburb and address before saving an event so you can allow for the journey. For outdoor venues, check access and weather notices on the organiser’s site.

Can I browse art without buying anything?

Yes. You can visit to look, ask questions and learn what you enjoy. Check admission first: free entry and free activities are different things, and a workshop within a free market may need a separate ticket. The free-entry filter is a useful starting point.

What should I check before buying art?

Ask about materials, dimensions, edition details where relevant, the full price and how the work will get home. Keep the artist’s details and any documentation supplied. Use our first artwork checklist ↗
