Brisbane art fairs & exhibitions: December 2026
A lunchtime market, two handmade-market dates and a gallery trip to Cleveland make a December shortlist with room for both gifts and a slower look at art.
Two markets at the start of December
The Market Folk’s Heritage Lanes Christmas Market is on Wednesday 2 December, 11.30am–2.30pm, at 80 Ann Street. Gasworks Plaza’s morning Christmas market follows on Saturday 5 December, 9am–1pm, in Newstead. Both have free visitor entry.
These are different sessions at different locations. The Gasworks pick here is specifically the 5 December morning market; do not use it as the time for another Gasworks event.

Handmade work before Christmas
BrisStyle’s Twilight Market returns to King George Square on Friday 18 December, 4–9pm. Its Whale Mall Christmas market is the following day, Saturday 19 December, 10am–3pm. Both have free entry.
Check the organiser’s day-of-event updates for weather or access changes. Purchases are separate from admission, and a free market does not imply that workshops or other activities in the surrounding precinct are free.
A gallery day beyond the centre
Redland Art Awards is at Redland Art Gallery in Cleveland from 29 November into January. It offers a separate painting-focused outing from the central Brisbane markets. Entry is free.
Cleveland is a day-trip destination rather than a stop on a city-centre walking route. Check gallery hours and holiday closures, allow travel time and use Queensland local time: Brisbane remains on AEST through December.
