NOVEMBER CITY GUIDE

Melbourne art fairs & exhibitions: November 2026

Graduate shows fill the second half of the month, with craft exhibitions and maker markets offering a different kind of visit along the way.

Markets first, graduate shows later

Start November with The Makers and Shakers Christmas Gift Market at Seaworks in Williamstown on 7–8 November. Later, CRFT* WRK returns to Queen Victoria Market on 28 November. Both are opportunities to browse makers’ work, but they take place in different parts of Melbourne and have different admission arrangements.

For exhibitions, Visionaries opens at Craft Victoria on 12 November. MADA Now opens to daytime visitors at Monash’s Caulfield campus on 19 November, while RMIT School of Art’s exhibition begins with its opening evening on 24 November. This guide selects five visits; the full calendar has more markets, trails and galleries.

Graduate-show hours are not interchangeable

MADA Now runs until 3 December. Public hours are Monday–Friday 10am–4pm and Saturday noon–4pm, with Sundays closed. The launch on Wednesday 18 November, 5.30–9pm, is separate from the public exhibition run.

RMIT’s opening is Tuesday 24 November, 5–8pm. Public sessions are 25–27 and 30 November, 11am–4pm, and Saturday 28 November, noon–4pm. There is no listed Sunday 29 November session. Check the campus programme for the building you plan to visit.

What is free and what needs a ticket?

MADA Now, RMIT School of Art, Visionaries and CRFT* WRK have free visitor entry in the current listings. Makers and Shakers lists $5 adult entry, with children aged 12 and under free. Its market runs 10am–4pm on both days; check the organiser’s booking page before travelling.

Visionaries continues beyond November, closing on 6 February 2027. Check Craft Victoria’s current gallery opening hours for the day you choose; a long exhibition date range does not mean every day is open.

Choose a precinct, then a second stop

Williamstown, Caulfield and the city campus are separate destinations. Allow travel time rather than trying to fit them into one short visit. If you are browsing a campus exhibition, use the school’s venue information instead of relying on the university’s general street address.

Keep a note of an artist’s name if you want to ask about a work later. Sales arrangements differ between a market stall and a graduate exhibition; ask who handles payment and collection before committing.
